Customization For Sub-Levels

This article includes suggestions and workarounds. Content may not be accurate for all use cases or represent best practices for the latest release.

What is the Customization for Sub-Levels option that I see for my standard sheets and how do I use it?

Customization for Sub-Levels can be used on a standard sheet to lock accounts on a level-by-level basis.

Modeling > Sheets > "Edit" next to the standard sheet > "Edit" next to Customization of Sub-Levels.

Your accounts will display in the left pane and your levels in the right.

1) Expand your account grouping(s) to locate the account you want to edit.  Select the account by highlighting it.

2) Then expand your level tree on the right and update the boxes to the left of each level name.  Once completed click on the "Save and Close" button.

    • Blue = editable
    • Grey = read only
    • White = hidden

Please Note: The 'Editable', 'Read Only', and 'Hidden' boxes you see at the bottom are a key.

If your account is locked on a standard sheet, and you want to unlock the account to edit it, or if you are unable to locate an account on your sheet (i.e. it is hidden).  If the account is locked on every level it is likely set as Read Only, which can be determined from Modeling > Sheets > "Edit" next to the sheet > "Edit" next to Account Groups. If it is locked or hidden on some levels, but not others, it is likely due to Customization for Sub-Levels.
