Question

How do I add and edit level mappings?

Answer

Adding a new Level Mapping

If you are only adding 1 or 2 new mappings, you may manually create them.

  1. Navigate to Integration > Import Level Mappings.
  2. Click ‘Add Mapping’.
  3. In the Mapping Details pane, enter the Import level name.  The Import level name is the name of the level coming from your source system.
  4. Then search for the level you would like to map to in the box below.  The level you choose will be the Mapped Level (i.e. the name of your levels in Adaptive).
  5. Click ‘Accept’ and ‘Save’.

If you are adding many new level mappings, the import option will be quickest.

  1. Navigate to Integration > Import Level Mappings.
  2. Click on the Import Level Mapping link in the top right.
  3. Click on the ‘Level Mappings’ link next to Download Template.
  4. Open the Excel file.
  5. Fill out the second tab.

   i.   Import Level = level name from your source system

ii.  Mapped Level = level name found in Adaptive

 6. Save the file and go back to the Adaptive screen.

 7. Next to Import File, click Browse.

    i.  Choose your previously saved file and upload the template.

ii.     If you receive any errors while uploading, click on the ‘View now’ link.  This will generate an Excel file with an error tab that may be reviewed for corrections.

8. Be sure to ‘Save’.

Editing an existing Level Mapping

  1. Navigate to Integration > Import Level Mappings.
  2. Click on the level you would like to change.
  3. In the box to the right, scroll or use the search feature to find the level you want to map to.
  4. Once the new level has been selected, click ‘Accept’ and ‘Save’.

When updating a level mapping, this will not affect your historical data.  Rather, all imports moving forward will route data into the newly selected level.

Deleting a Level Mapping

  1. Navigate to Integration > Import Level Mappings.
  2. Locate the mapping(s) you wish to delete.
  3. In the box to the left, check the mapping.  The level mapping line will turn orange.
  4. Select all of the mappings that you would like to delete, and click ‘Save’.

Be very mindful when clicking on the delete boxes, for you cannot uncheck a box.  Rather you will have to navigate away from the page and come back to start over. This is particularly important if you are deleting many many mappings.  If you have a lot of mappings to delete, you might consider deleting them in batches.
